Delete your NextBasket account
You can delete your account in the app or request help without reinstalling it. Read what is removed and what remains before continuing.
Request deletion without the app
Send an email from the address associated with your NextBasket account to:
Use the subject NextBasket account deletion request and state that you want your NextBasket account and associated account data deleted. If you cannot access that email address, explain this so account ownership can be verified before any deletion.
Never send your password, verification codes or payment information. Sending a request does not immediately delete your account.
We verify account ownership before processing a request and reply with the next steps and expected completion time. If ownership transfer or another issue prevents completion, we explain what is needed.
Delete directly in the app
- Open NextBasket and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings. If you own a household with other members, transfer ownership to another member first.
- Select Delete account and read the confirmation.
- Verify your identity using the sign-in method shown and confirm deletion.
- Keep an internet connection until deletion completes. If it is interrupted, follow the app's instructions to verify again and retry.
What is deleted
- Your NextBasket sign-in account and app profile.
- Your memberships and access to households.
- Households where you are the only member, including their lists, list items, stores, receipt records and suggestion preferences.
- This account's private receipt photos and offline data on the device completing the in-app deletion flow.
What can remain
Other members' shared household history. Shared lists, receipts and contributor identifiers remain with households that still have members. These records have no automatic expiry; they remain until household editors delete them or the household is deleted.
Files and copies on other devices. NextBasket cannot remotely erase private images or offline copies held on another device. Original photos/PDFs in your gallery or file storage are not removed. Signing out through the app clears its account-specific local data on that device; it also removes local receipt photos that have no cloud copy.
Provider backups. Firebase Authentication may take up to 180 days to remove deleted authentication data from its live and backup systems, according to Firebase's retention information. This is separate from the time needed to handle an email request.
Before you delete
Deletion cannot be undone. Save any receipt images or information you need beforehand. Deleting NextBasket's account does not delete your Google account. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your NextBasket account or cloud household records.
